Deposits & Payment

To secure your booking, a 20% deposit is required (please note deposits are non-refundable) and the balance is to be paid two months before your arrival. In addition, a good housekeeping deposit (£500 for Cray House or £150 for Blairbeg) will be required, payable along with the balance and will be returned one week after your departure, less any necessary deductions. For bookings made within two months of your arrival date, full payment and the good housekeeping deposit will be payable at the time of booking.

Smoking

Cray House is a no-smoking property. If you wish to smoke please do so outside and use the ashtrays provided.

Pets

We allow up to two dogs by prior arrangement. We do however ask that they are kept to the hard floor areas of the house only and that they sleep in the laundry room if not in your cars. Outside, we also ask that you keep an eye on them as far as cattle and sheep are concerned and clean up after them. Bags are available in plentiful supply in the laundry room.

Departure

Check out time is 10:00 unless pre-arranged otherwise. Late departures may result in a deduction from your good house-keeping deposit.

Bins

We kindly ask that you recycle your rubbish throughout your stay. Blue-lidded wheelie bins are provided for plastic, tins, cardboard and paper. There is no glass collection in this area, but if you keep your glass separate and rinsed, we will recycle it on your behalf. Please empty all other household bins into the green wheelie bin provided at the back door. Again, black bin bags and small bin bags are provided in the laundry room.

Cleanliness

We provide a good supply of cleaning materials and dishwasher tablets and respectfully ask that you keep the house to a good level of cleanliness during your stay.

Breakages, Spillages and Stains

We understand that accidents can happen, but please notify us of any damage or breakages that occur. We provide good quality towels and linen and ask that you treat them respectfully. Any irremovable stains to these, furniture and carpets will result in deductions from your good house-keeping deposit.

Fire Places

Please feel free to use the open fires. There is a store of logs and kindling under the back staircase, and a metal bucket outside the back door for any hot ashes. We ask that all guests behave sensibly around the fires and the fireguards are used.

Safety

When using the rowing boat, please be sure to use the lifejackets provided. Children must be supervised at all times in the play park and on/around the loch or river. The facilities are there for your enjoyment, but they must be used responsibly and strictly under parental guidance. The zip wire must not be used or tampered with.

Toilets

Waste water goes to underground septic tanks, therefore nothing but toilet paper should be disposed of down the toilets. Please use the bags and bathroom bins provided for disposal of sanitary items.

Security

Please lock the house if you are going out for the day. We advise that you make a plan so that a key is available for members of your group to come and go. This also saves keys being lost. In order for us to gain access to the house in an emergency, please remember to hang up the back door key when locked rather than leaving it in the lock.
