Pam Cameron – Housekeeper
Pam, Cray’s amazing housekeeper, is on hand at all times to assist you in any way she can. She will help you plan the sleeping arrangements, so please discuss your requirements when booking as various combinations of double and twin beds can be provided, as well as additional cots for babies. She will greet you on arrival and “show you the ropes”. If anything arises during your stay or you are not sure about anything, please contact Pam straightaway and she will be only too happy to help. In addition, Pam is happy to help out occasionally with cooking (by separate arrangement with her)
Pam lives in the Gardener’s Cottage and her telephone number is:
01250 882 269 or mob 07780 584 465
Inside the house
If you’re anything like us, you’ll be thinking about practicalities. Here’s a quick run down of some of the things that will doubtless cross your minds!
• Bed/table linen & towels: everything you’ll need will be waiting for you when you arrive, including all bed linen, towels, tablecloths, napkins, cloths etc. More is available, for a small charge, should you need it during your stay – just ask Pam.
• Hot water: hot water is available 24 hours a day. Whilst the supply is plentiful, do be aware that if all the baths are run at the same time, the system may struggle a little to cope!
• Electricity: all electricity costs are included in the price of your holiday but ‘Think Green’ – please turn off unnecessary lights etc
• Central heating: when you arrive, Pam will have the house warm and ready with the timed central heating set. As in all things at Cray – you could “Think Green” save the surcharge and only ask for extra heating as and when you really need it.
• Fires: please feel free to use the open fires. Help yourself to logs and kindling which are stored under the stairs at the back door. All we ask is that you be sensible at all times around the fires and use the fireguards when leaving them unattended for any time.
• Wet clothes & muddy wellies: Hopefully, you’ll have nothing but sunshine throughout your stay but this IS Scotland! You’ll find driers and washing machines and hanging space for all your wet things – including wellies - in the cloakroom and laundry room.
• Dogs: well behaved dogs are welcome at Cray and may come into the laundry room at the side door but we do ask that they are not allowed to explore beyond that. Dogs may NOT stay overnight inside the house. There is some limited outside accommodation for a couple of dogs next to the house but they may find their own cars more comfortable.
• Barbecue: please feel free to use the barbecue – Pam will point it out to you on arrival and explain how the super effective “midge buster” works. Don’t blame us if you get bitten!
